What comes with a Happy Go Hike?

To learn more about what HGH has to offer, visit our Services page.

What are the pick up and drop off time frames?

Pick Up: 7:30 AM - 10:00 AM

Drop Off: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Please note that hike durations exclude traveling and that the above timing are estimates. Timing varies with each season.

What happens in the event of rain, snow or extreme temperatures?

Rain or snow will normally not defer a HGH excursion.

However, HGH reserves the right to cancel a hike if driving conditions are hazardous and the weather ceases to improve by noon that day. This includes dangerous weather conditions and temperatures below 25°F. In cases of extreme heat, a HGH hike may be canceled per our discretion. Should this be the case, we will attempt to notify all clients as soon as possible and reschedule your dog’s hike for a later date.

How do I get my pup started?

To ensure your pup is a good fit for HGH, we require a meet and greet with any potential doggie hiker. Contact us via e-mail woof@happygohiking.com or call us at (720) 443-3844 to coordinate a time that works best for you and your furbaby!

Please allow 1-2 business days for a reply.

We come to you! The meet and greet includes a walk around your neighborhood. This helps us learn your dog's demeanor on leash and if they require any additional training.

From there we will schedule a paid trial hike. A trial hike includes socialization with other dogs, hikers, bikers, encounters with horses, wildlife sightings, and everything else that comes with our group services!

The minimum age requirement to be a HGH dog hiker is 6 months old. All potential dogs participating in Group Hikes must be neutered prior to their first HGH group excursion.

What do I need to provide for my dog's hike?

If no adult is present, please provide a reliable lock box or have a spare key ready for easy access during pick up and drop off time frames.

Your dog must have a collar on at all times that include:

  • Dog name
  • Owner's contact information (or microchip number)

All dogs are required to be up-to-date on their core vaccinations and medication prior to hiking with HGH. Core vaccines include: canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis, and rabies.

Non-core vaccines are given depending on the dog’s exposure risk. These include vaccines against Bordetella bronchiseptica, Borrelia burgdorferi and Leptospira bacteria. For further vaccine guidelines, please consult your veterinarian.

HGH does not require, but highly recommends that your pup be on monthly heartworm medication and preventative flea/tick prescription.

Does Happy Go Hiking offer dog walking or dog sitting services?

HGH is strictly a dog hiking company. We can provide referrals for those looking for a reliable dog walker or dog sitter. You don't have to scratch at our doors—just reach out, we're happy to help!

What is Happy Go Hiking's holiday policy?

HGH offers dog hiking services Monday through Friday with the exception of Federal Holidays.

Federal Holidays include: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Black Friday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

How do we pay?

All scheduling and payment is facilitated through the Time to Pet app.

What is the cancellation policy?

HGH reserves the right to charge for a full day of hiking if a hiker arrives at your household and no dog is present within the first 15 minutes of arrival.

A $40 cancellation fee will be applied to the next billing cycle for any same-day cancellations.

A cancellation fee is only waived in the event of an emergency or if the hike is canceled by the client 72 hours in advance. We request this specific time window in order to fill your dog’s spot for other dogs on the wait list.

Emergencies include a death, injury to dog, illness of dog, a veterinarian visit, car accident, or a family emergency. Emergencies do not include a last minute trip, if the human(s) of the are home sick, or a scheduling miscommunication.

HGH reserves the right to cancel a hike if driving conditions are hazardous and the weather ceases to improve by noon that day. This includes dangerous weather conditions and temperatures above 85°F or below 25°F. Please note that we base our decision on mountain weather and not Denver's climate. We will attempt to notify all clients as soon as possible and reschedule your dog’s hike for a later date.
